Arousing sentiments with architecture, one photographer’s personal view
-a photographic series by Karen Desjardin
“Architecture arouses sentiments in man. The architect’s task therefore, is to make those sentiments more precise."
-Adolf Loos
My task as the photographer for this series of images is to use those sentiments to create a personal view of contemporary architecture by zeroing in on the shapes, patterns, and details of great buildings and architectural projects that move me.
A selection of prints from this collection are currently on view at W Gallery, 115 9th St., Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Several prints from this collection were part of a group architectural photography exhibition at W Gallery in Steamboat Springs, CO, in 2022, and also part of a a group exhibition at the McNichols Building and Buell Theatre in Denver as part of the 2015 Month of Photography programs.
